This is the second mask I made for the production of Baccae that my college put on. The difference from between this mask and the first one I made was that the facial piece was done without the ears being a separate piece. I like this version better since its a cleaner line and less cutting (and thus less loose fur in the air). The ears are wire re-enforced.
The mask is made out of face fur from two coyotes. Don't worry, the rest of the animal was used too, they came from a population control hunt. The mask is supported by a wire frame underneath. The back is rabbit hide and the headband is fabric coated banding steel (or strap iron, depending on what hardware store you buy it at). I really enjoyed the whole project but I could have done without the fur cloud and smell of wet fur that followed me around for the month proceeding the play.
