Love how the lighting and shape of the butt reflects actual physics on the anatomy. It seems many artists forget that a person's full body weight and a solid seat have a reaction when they sit down.

There is very true lol. Tinny things like that are what usually make something pretty interesting to look at. I'm not good at that myself yet, but the few that I watch that do such things, I usually end up staring for a while at those small nuances of movements and object-body interactions.

I think the fact artists tend to draw objects and characters in separate layers might contribute to this disconnect.

Or them simply trying to make everything look 'perfect' for the consumer. As in perfect round bums, unrealistically perfect and round tits and the list goes on.

Pity the most emotionally accessible features of any character lays in their flaws. You can't grasp the beauty of something if there is nothing flawed to provide contrast.

That ^. Which is why despite friedy being a lil handsome [for whomever loves old wrinkly men xD] idiot, he's full of problems. Both physically obvious and mental ones. I enjoy having imperfect characters to work with rather than perfect ones. Perfect ones, ones that are too strong, too handsome and what not, they are just plain and simple flat. Just like overly polished features that seem like they were generated by a computer rather than is an actual existing, living creature.

Greymuzzles need love too :3 but yeah over idealized characters lack dimension and something to be able to bond with.
