Ask anyone who knows Raphael how he got his reputation, and they'll tell you about a Vulpix who couldn't use his flames but made up for it with a fiery attitude and a fighting style that made you wish he had just set you on fire instead. After a freshman year that saw multiple injuries to both himself and his opponents and the disciplinary warnings that resulted, "Boss Eddie" and his teammates finally managed to convince him that he needed to take it down a few notches and pursue a less destructive strategy.

While Raphael may not be the black fedora'd monster that he was previously, that doesn't mean he's any less of a challenge to fight. He's not afraid to get up close and personal no matter how much bigger his opponent is, and now trying to keep one's distance isn't even a completely safe measure as a training session with Rene that went very unexpectedly resulted in him finally learning how to use his fire... a little too well in fact. He still has trouble controlling his Fire Blast well and can't use it often, but just the fact that he can use it can be very unnerving to those who thought they could just play keep away and knock him out from a distance.
