So I just realized that nobody in Team Showtime had an accurate movesheet (and one didn't even have one at all!), largely because I sort of misunderstood a couple things when I first started out. About time that was corrected, don'cha think?
Eddie's moveset may not look like it's all that great on paper, but one has to understand his philosophy behind battling to see the methods employed: as far as he's concerned, winning the match isn't nearly as important as making sure the crowd in the stands is seeing an exciting match (and he also knows that the quality of the battle affects grades as much as winning or losing, if not more so).
With that in mind, Eddie doesn't rely on hammering out the big moves constantly like others do, but instead uses them at key points in the match to try and direct his opponents into constantly changing their strategy. The downside to this is that if he's getting overwhelmed, it can be very difficult for him to make a comeback.
Water Pulse is the only move that doesn't really fit into this grand scheme of his, and it might seem odd that someone with such an affinity for Fire-types like Eddie would learn a Water move. The reason it's there is because he and Jenny wanted to have at least one move they could practice together, and no matter how complex his plans, a lifelong friend like Jenny is always going to have priority over them. Besides, who'd really expect to get hit with it from the guy wearing a jersey with flames on it, right?

He is a water-affiliated feline too, hmm? That is a nice touch! I would not have expected a fire-affinity Persian to have a water Pokemon's technique :3
I think you are genius in making him a flashy feline. Big moves can win a match, but bringing joy to the crowd is a much nicer sentiment. Plus, I see this is a school, hmm? Then indeed he'd want to get the best marks ever.
And also, I'm a lover of Persian <3
