Saipan Class Assault Carrier

The Saipan Class Assault Carrier is an unofficial sub-class of the Long Island Class Carrier as there are several radical differences between the two classes. As such, the Saipan was only based partly on the Long Island design. Whereas the Long Island is fitted with two hangars, the Saipan is graced with four bays.

Interesting spin on the motion picture-era look. Cool to see the slow angling of the deflector housing: moves toward the look that future ships would have for a while.
