The last intact portion of a barn that burned many years ago. The fire completely destroyed the main building, but left this tiny addition intact along with its contents. You can see the burn marks along the top of the ceiling where the fire stopped.
Milltown, a tiny village that never surpassed a few dozen residents, seems destined to burn. The town's namesake mill burned in the 1960's, leaving a hollow stone shell that was rebuilt into a house soon after. Next was this barn, which was never rebuilt and left as a ruin. And most recently, in early 2016, the stately brick home that belonged to the mill owner burned down. But amazingly that also survived as a shell and is now being rebuilt.
What's also bizarre is despite decades of being exposed to the elements this place still smells of chickens.
