This aircraft belongs to the Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston, Texas. I believe this particular example has a newer engine than the early forties Corsairs, but I forget if it's the R-2800 or the more powerful R-4360 turning that gigantic prop (13' diameter?). I understand the engine is a bit of a nightmare to work on, so it's probably the R-4360 lol.
The Corsair will always have a place in my heart, as my grandfather on my mom's side used to maintenance a few of the wartime Corsairs over in California (as well as TBM's and whatnot). Lots of wild stories from over there on the West end of things. :3
