“The Way of Mastery is to break all the rules—but you have to know them perfectly before you can do this; otherwise you are not in a position to transcend them.”
― Aleister Crowley, Magical and Philosophical Commentaries on The Book of the Law
I got this to commemorate a GURPS Illuminati game I am running. It's a very fun setting to explore where everything is true, even the false things! It's one of Aleister Crowley more well known poses, showing some of the principles of his interesting revitalization of the Hermetic traditions. He is one of the world's most recognizable occultists, so I thought it would be a fitting thematic

To know the rules before breaking them. True words. You need to know how the world works before tearing it apart and shaping it as you wish - otherwise it's just some random acts, and you'll end up with just ashes in your hands. Without rules to follow, there's no "breaking" them, and where would the pleasure of change be?
(which by the way is the only rule when you prepare an epic conflict. There's always the random Disintegration flying against your lovely crafted final boss...)
