The Weekly Inks #9:
Raiders of the Lost Kicks (2008)
Color version with full description here.
Sorry, no pencil version in my archives this was hand-iniked over the original pencils
Visit this journal for the concept for this series
Recreational art, pencil on copy paper, brush + India ink and technical pen (scan of photocopy) and reduced to 30% of original scan size for TWIP program.
Note: This pic is oversized data-wise for my B/W pics. It seems that it is so complex, that JPG-ing it below 170K or so introduces visible artifacts.

I managed to score a pair of those a couple of times...the second time I ordered through Footlocker.com on the phone in-store since they had sold out. (I didn't do the 'wait-on-line before the store opens' thing)
But $125-ish was my limit. Once the MSRP escalated to $150 I quit pursuing them (subsequent production runs went for $180, and now reside at $205). Technically, I could still afford them, but they're not worth that much to me since I never wore out the other two pairs (never had to use them daily since I have two (or three) stacks of occupied sneaker boxes as tall as I am to choose from :D
