None of this is real. I was watching Bob Ross videos and was trying to see how much I could emulate his tool use in ProCreate. The answer is... Not enough. There's still a lot of brush technique stuff that doesn't port well to computer graphics. On the other hand, there are lots of other tools and you can figure out how to do what you want. This definitely isn't my finest work ever but ohwell.

In a way this isn't just something that one runs into when trying to use techniques from one genre to another. I grew up with the pen and ink crowd (which, I should note, uses a lot of pencil work as well) and so, like you, when I tried to make Bob Ross paintings with my stuff, it was a wreck at best (ok... maybe not that bad but no where near what I wanted). However, when I stopped trying copy Bob's technique and, instead, played around with what EFFECTS he was trying to accomplish with his tools... and transfered those EFFECTS to my work, I was able to get the effect desired. True... it wasn't his technique but then I wasn't using his tools so as long as you can get the effect, then whatever works with the tools you're using is just fine. As for your drawing, I'm not sure exactly what you were going for so if I'm wrong, please don't take this as criticism... just observation. Separate the character from the background and you have two awesome drawings. I think you did great on the background and great on the character... but they don't look like they belong together in that image. That's just me babe so... grains of salt with that, k? Overall though, if you're fine with that and it's what you were going for, then you nailed it.
