Found all over the world of Ceal, these tiny reptilian critters fill the ecological niche left behind by mice during the Ascension event. They feed mostly on seeds, but can also be found chewing down nuts and berries. Also, several breeds of Zevis feed on insects either occasionally or exclusively.

Zevis often live in family groups of up to a dozen, but forage mostly alone. Cute though they may be, they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, and especially young Zevi often walk right into the face of danger, never to return. Although the surviving Zevis quickly replenish their numbers, this suicidal attitude which can be commonly observed in the field has given rise to the term "Zevi-brained", to describe a particularly stupid idea or endeavor.
