After exhaustive research I finally broke down and got an ipad with the pencil. And it's awesome as sketching goes. Not cheap BUT with one piece of tech I no longer need to take my travel laptop, wacom tablet, or sketch pad and all their requisite accessories so it lightens my load and makes things so much simpler.

this was made with the most basic of basic Notes app. I am still figuring out the interface in ProCreate. Handles just like you would think it should. Very intuitive and easy.

I may have to look into one of these. The look and feel of this sketch is very, I dunno, natural? That's about as close to traditional pen and paper I've yet seen. Does it have basic editing functions built in?
