Remember the Kimono I made? Well...didn't find out until like three days ago that it probably wouldn't work, seeing as I'm not of Japanese heritage. I'm actually of German decent, so saw it only fit that I dress in traditional German clothing.
I've never made anything that can be worn out in public and be concidered normal. XD This is far from my usual fuzzy work. Everything except the white blouse pictured, I made. The yellow vest-like garb, that is a dirndl. Not intirely acurate, but it was the best I could do on short notic. I just realised that the apron hides the beautiful pleats I put in the dress. :( I'll have to take pics so you can see the pleats.
I'm VERY proud of how this looks. I intend on wearing the dress to other things, and maybe even the dirndl. All of this was put together in one day, all machine sewn. Except the buttons. XD And whats even better? I recycled older fabrics to make this outfit. Not one red scent was spent to make this, I used things I found right here around the house. Including those buttons. (Thank you mamaw for letting me raid your button drawer!)

I realize this is a really old post, but I just thought that you might like to know that the apron knot tied in the back means the lady is a widow. Assuming that's you in the photo, you don't look old enough to be a widow. :P
So where should you put the knot? Here are the other positions, and what they mean: A knot tied on the woman's left side indicates that she is single, a knot tied on the right means that she is married, engaged or otherwise "taken", a knot tied in the front center means that she is a virgin.
