There is a Poké Center in the city near the Grand Forest that is known for its lengthy recovery process. The cause of this is a certain hungry squirrel. Max asserted himself one day and made a "deal" with the employees working there after eating several of them (Pokémon and people alike) and promising not to perma-vore them in exchange for some easy food. Falling for Max's scheme he shows up now and again and helps himself to the stored recovered Pokémon in the back rooms. Trainers would often complain about why their Pokémon are sometimes acting strangely but the staff reassures them that everything is fine.
