Looks like someone doesn't get to have their cup of coffee in peace... a rather large cup at that, too.

Hmm, seem to be drawing a lot of her again, oh well.

ooh, love her expression. let's hope someone gets the hint, or there will be bluddy murder. :)
one thing ocurred to me, it's your anime-inspired, slightly edgy character design. it looks good, and the perspectives are up par. I have seen artists daring to create faces with oversized eyes which are flat towards the viewer despite the face turned in... and I have seen them published. :P
ah, I don't want to rant for no reason. never mind me.

Yeah... you really need to understand perspective if you want to make anything except straight-ahead or side-views that look somewhat right. Luckily I have fairly good spatial recognition, if I can believe what my father told me, though I guess I should, as he's an architect for one, and you really need to be able to recognise the shape of a drawn object, so that the house you make the plans for isn't just a glorified rectangle :)
Good call on the anime-inspired, though I suppose that may be slightly obvious from the eyes and my userpage description... XD Anyways, I'm not entirely sure what you mean with "edgy", is it for the sharp corners on some lines, like the chin?
Heh, "bloody murder" is actually a very likely outcome for dealing with her in any other way than she tolerates. If you're a male, that is. She's slightly more forgiving towards women, since she does not expect them to be as lewd towards her... though with the way she acts anyone will probably think twice before even talking to her XD

yep. some famed manga artists from certain genres (which names elude me since I don't care much, I see them at the comic shop) seem to have no idea how to construct perspective on their characters. while the surroundings look so exact they actually look lifeless.
I'm no architect, but a auto mechanic, and had to learn how to construct a perspective, too. applying that to somethign self-thaught is another thing, which is why I'll always have to 'fight'.
yes, I meant egdy in the literal sense, like the sharp lines around muzzle and forehead. ^^
she is a warrior type, hm? a bit like Riddick... "leave me alone, or I'll kill you with this mug!"

Haha, no, not exactly. Sure she's a warrior type, but wouldn't actually go that far, as she isn't a killer, just very irritable XD
I have to say, that unfortunately I too have seen the type who do excellent backgrounds, but the characters... yeah ^^' Haven't really found anyone famed doing that... but then again I haven't really looked at the overflow of typical high-school mangas that seem to be everywhere nowadays... might have even worse cases of flat-facedness.
But auto mechanics having to learn perpective? that's a new one to me :) I'm curious as to how exactly do you apply it on that field.

drawing construction pictures on various parts, with measures and other things. to leanr the basics on how to handle metal parts. way back when I was learning that profession it wasn't out of question for some auto shops to create their own tools, or recreate simpler parts if new parts aren't available, and for this you need to know how to read a technical drawing. although most used the 'cavalier's view' as we put it. which means, you see the flat front and the side of the item in real length istead of perspectively right shortening.
Hmm, that does make sense, though the "cavalier's view" is much easier to use when you need to do something in specific dimensions, I guess... atleast that's the view they used in all the Lego-set instructions when I still used to get them for christmas :)
Then again that may have been due to it being easier to have 2d images of the blocks and place them over eachother instead of working in true 3d... well atleast back then, don't know how it would be now.
Anyway, metal crafting... I still remember making that bottle opener out of a short piece of thin round steel bar, and a nut with a third of a segment cut off of it and rounded... and never using it since I haven't needed to open that kind of bottles so far XD

hehe* I made a toy truck using the various ways of abusing steel: sawing, filing, drilling, cutting threads, fitting an axle block into the ground plate (failed terribly on that), milling, cutting out holes out of a tin sheet to create the housing and bending and beating another one into shape for the bead. also, using steel nails (the little rounded-head things you see holding data plates on machines) to hold an aluminium front bumper in place.
I also later turned a 'model' of that television broadcast tower which resides above my hometoen of Stuttgart, Germany since 1957. :)
everything else I did got discarded; never really had use for these things.
