Closed species

Caeci Hellhounds are a completely blind, no-eyed subspecies of Hellhound. Because of the lack of eyes, they rely on their other senses to hunt and maneuver, hearing is the strongest followed by smell. They are pack animals who usually only get along with those in their pack. The living cannot see them, except on rare occasions when their flame is visible.

Sexual dimorphism: Males have a big and buff build while females have a lithe and fast build. Gender is assigned by body build, not sex, so one with a lithe build will always be considered a female. It is very rare for sex and gender to not match up (3% of population approximately).

Alphas: There is always a male and female alpha, though they do not have to be mates. Normally the flame color defines who the alphas are, with those with the rare colored flames like white, black, and gray. This is not always the case as some packs have overthrown those with the rare flames for being weak.

Flames: Every Hellhound's tail is lit on fire and can come in different colors, with some being more rare than others. The flames do not burn anything unless the hound wants to.

Markings and Accessories: All Caeci Hellhounds are naturally solid white, black, or gray. In order to have markings they need to paint or dye their fur, and this is a temporary measure, though most who dye continue to do so. When they wear accessories they are usually made from natural materials, but man-made can be worn, usually as trophies.

Hunting: They hunt and eat anything they can find in the underworld. Human souls they eat will painfully regenerate after time. For difficult prey, the pack will hunt together with the females wearing out the prey by chasing them, while the males finish them off.
