Hay peeps!
It's been a wild ride, but it's finally over... for now.
After months of designing, testing, wretches falling into the works, loads of stress and several returns to the drawing board, my capstone project is complete!
The main issues that I had were actually with the case design and not the actual electronics. Originally I wanted to have the case made out of metal, and mounted on my old shotgun frame, using the trigger to activate the device. However, the welder that I was promised to get access to never showed up, so i had to come up with something else. So I spent a few weeks trying to find a way to weld metal together without a welder, and as it turns out, it's not freakin' possible...
Also, at the same time, I had to come up with a radiation containment cage in order to safely demonstrate the device. After discovering that RF shielding cloth was insanely expensive and impossible to find, I had to, again, improvise. So I made a cage out of aluminum screening, that actually worked pretty well.
As for the case design, I ended up running out of time, and resorted to the crude wood design that you see in the picture.
I also had to rewire everything when I mounted it all in the case, making sure to manually connect ground wires to each component since the case was not metal.
In the end, everything seemed to work out, and I was able to give my presentation of my microwave ray last night at my college, and traumatize everyone in the room as I did it! >;P
(They were generally terrified of my project, and even refused to approach the device, even when it was unplugged! Which I found immensely amusing )
Anyway, there is only one small thing i have left to do for my school, and that will complete my school career for an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology!
I'm actually done! My graduation is scheduled for the 30th of next month! I'm a college graduate! Woooh!
As for the microwave ray gun, (did I ever say what my project was?) Which I named the "EMRR1300," I am planning to make a video of the device in action, and upload it to YouTube, and show you guys! And when I do, you guys will probably be able to see what I look like! O.O
Plus I'll be blowing up cell phones and doing other cool stuff, so you won't want to miss that! ;D
So, after I finish up the few things I gotta do for my school, which i should have done by this Tuesday, or maybe Wednesday, I'll be out of school for three months before my Bachelor's Degree program begins, in which I will be searching for a job and trying to get some art stuff done. Hopefully I can get a job that pays well enough that I'll be able to rent a house or something, and get out of this dang trailer that I have been living in for the last two years!
Also, I'll try to come back online again ;D

Great to see you back, Hericks buddy! I've missed having my favourite bitch around to shove in my sweaty musky crotch or smother under my sexy ass!
Also, congrats on the project! Looks really awesome and I'm really impressed by your skill - so much better then anything I could ever try to make!
I've got some story ideas that I want to do for you, as well as purchasing a commission off you - your artwork is one of my favourites here on FA! So hopefully that goes well and we get some nice sexy gay fun between us once again!
Glad to have you back again! I can't wait to see what art you have in store tor us!
Now get over here and lick my ass, you worthless little dog!!

Hehe, thanks, it's good to be back, at least for a while anyway. I've missed being a crotch sniffing, ass worshiping bitch. XP
The project isn't all that complicated actually, all you need is a little know how, and know how to read a schematic... It's actually a huge step down from how I wanted it to be, but meh... it worked I guess...
Sounds good, but unfortunately the commissioning will have to wait until I can get my ass in gear and complete the artwork i already owe which is WAAAAAY overdue at this point ^^;
I'll probably have to do a couple practice sketches so I can get back into the swing of things too, since it's been forever since I last drew anything... ^^;
Heh, I'll try to get something worthwhile to present you guys soon ^^;
Meep! O//.//O

Fuck... honestly, Im giving you like... 20 Cruse points for that.
That is how awesome you are!
That..thing.. it is so damn cooool!
Also, cant wait to see how you look like blowing Cellphones and shit xD
Hey, trued dling popcorn with this thing? xD Make a simple mannequin and glue popcorn on it. To demonstrate the influemce on human body ^^
Oh? also, cant wait to see you back online <3 Maybe we'll be able to rp once? xD

Hehehe, cool! A few more curse points, and I might be able to level up my evil side! Or maybe it DID level up? XP
Yeah, I gotta admit, it is a pretty cool project, even if it is nowhere near perfection.
Well, I'm PREDICTING that the phones will blow up anyway, won't really know for sure until I try it, which I don't plan to do until I make the video, so we'll see what happens! As well as some other things I can try radiating. ;3
I haven't tried popcorn, though I assume that could take a while. I may need a radiation suit or set it up where i could stand away from it to shoot it for any extended period of time, cuz I do get a little backfire radiation from the gun... Like I said, not perfect ^^;
Hehe, yeah, I'll try to get time to do some RPs again ^^

I doubt that. The design is not actually that advanced, I just took the radiation components from a microwave, changed the circuit up a bit, added a few switches, cut out the control panel of the microwave, and put it in a new case to direct the radiation in one direction (for the most part)
It's pretty easy to figure out, though crazy dangerous! XP

actually, it is possible to weld metal without a welder, but it would require insane amounts of friction to do it.. I learned it can be done, because that's how tire rims are fused together actually (at least, i saw a video of how it's done anyways, there's likely other ways though)
congrats on your graduation btw :)
congrats on your graduation btw :)
Well... yeah, but I don't really have any tools that can pull that off, especially not with making precision welds. One idea I had however, that WOULD work, rather well, is by building my own spot welder out of one of my other microwaves! Though I think I might need one with a bigger power capability than the 600 Watts my microwaves are capable of. Link
even I have a hard time to try to understand that circuits youΒ΄re building!
what is this? a turbine? I have no idea xD looks like a spacy flying thing
and gz to your upcoming degree! we do have a normal of 3 years bachelors in germany, so Ill still be in for 2 more years

It's the EMRR1300, the Electromagnetic Radiation Ray powered by 1300 Watts. XP
It's actually quite simple. I bet you'd understand it quite quickly if I uploaded my schematic for it. I just re-purposed some components from a microwave oven to build a ray gun.
Thanks, though I'm going back for my bachelors degree! Ironically, since the bachelor program was pushed back to September, it will probably be about two years from now when i get my bachelor's degree as well. XP

so the turbine is for chilling the components? 1300 watt is alot of energy per second! my microwave has a max of 800 watt.
we should team up! you do the cicuit-stuff and I do the logic-gates for regulation and remote control ;PP
and wait what? you get an agree or not? :o

Yeah, without the fan, the magnatron will get really hot really fast. When testing it before I built the case, I could only have it on for maybe 30 seconds before risk of overheating the components.
Yeah, the microwaves of today run off of much less power. The highest power microwave I found at WalMart was only an 1100 watt, and the lowest was 700 watt.
Hehe, yeah, a remote controlled microwave weapon! Though, since the microwaves would disable electronic communications, that could cause some technicality issues... XP
Well, I am getting an Associate's Degree, but I want to upgrade it to a Bachelor's Degree because the Associate's doesn't give me much opportunity. Eventually, I may even try to get a Master's Degree as well, but we'll see how things pan out. Finding a job is proving to be quite the challenge...

Im working for my bachelor aswell. I may return to my old subject after that, so I get another one within the remaining 2 semesters after this one.
its sad that you dont use ANY kind of instant messenger or such, I never had a decent chat with you till today. x(((
would love to get to know every side of you, not only the technician hericks x)

Well, there actually isn't all that much to me...
I don't really do much, or go anywhere (no point in going places if you have no one to hang out with...)
I like My Little Pony, recently got into Undertale, and like electronics, and am trying to get education to get into robotics...
That's all I can really think of about myself...
my life is boring.
