Daily Doodle 27- Drawing Exam: Taylor
We had a "spot test" as my teacher calls them XD, (basicly it states that you dont know when the test will be). Everyone has to draw the same class mate posed and then he marks them. You either get an A to an E. Most people get C'S

You couldn't have put these up at a better time! I'm working on a HUGE piece of fan art for Prospect Hill, and am going to draw humans instead of anthros....thus I'm studying any portraits I can to figure out how to go about it....any pointers?
Excellent work, by the way!

Basically, the best advice I can give is sketch out the shape you see. Draw from what you see, not what you know from your head. Always look to the model then back to your paper. Some people keep their eyes on the paper too long and then they start drawing from what they know, whether its right or not. Dont focus too much on just the eyes or the nose, draw the entire shape and hint out where the eyes nose lips and ears should be placed proportionally . Sketch out the generally SHAPE of the hair, not every strand. Be observant and always measure your proportions. Using shading to define your proportions helps too but don't use it alone as a method. I hope that helps some. Im not an expert at humans but I still like practicing them.
