Woogh, commission for
leindurstit and done fully with colored pencil. As with any other medium, when you first start there's mistakes you make and cool tricks you learn. Oh man this was just gonna be a sketch of the dragon :) but I had to, I had to add background, and
leindurstit said to make it rainforesty. This is not rainforesty really, 'cuz it'd be really dark and hard to see anything on the forest floor...
Old old (some of them may be 25 years old) colored pencils on some thick paper. Colored pencils are cool... for some things. Watercolor pencil may have been better for the trees too... used pics on the net of rainforests for refs, ftw. Ugh, so many errors... but I learned! I'm gonna miss sending the original to its new owner... I hate to part with something that looks so colorful and pretty IRL, and that I worked so hard on. :( oh well.
As an extra important note, I adjusted colors in Photoshop CS3 D: and supposedly embbedded a um.. sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile. I *think* that's supposed to make my Mac display this pic the way it looks on PC displays. I then adjusted levels to smooth the color pencil lines and brighten up the pic. Alla you watchers, help me-- does that look good, color and brightness/contrast? Raa?
Enjoy.
Edit: changed name, this is
's character, but his name is Brynn. D'oh, Kurra! *faceslap*
