Reality gave me only despair
But I saw a gateway in that rain
My certainties vanished leaving no trace
On the other side there was your face
I ran toward it and you did the same
But we couldn’t cross that gate .

That wasn’t a door but a glass
Mirroring an illusion , my last ,
I would never want to believe again ,
Your beauty was my curse , my bane :
I would never be happy alone anymore ,
I loved you immediately from my core .

We both cried sorrowful tears ,
We both tried to reach our dreams ;
Then a gleam , a warm moonbeam
Enlightened my world and my realm
The world was pale , pure white ,
Everywhere nothing but mere light .

Suddenly the mirror was gone ,
Like petals of a rose ,
I fell to the ground
So I rose and looked around ,
There was no one in my sight
So I sighed and started to cry .

Then a pat on my head
I turned and you were there ;
I pinched myself just to be sure
That this wasn’t a short tour ;
But his wasn’t a fool’s dream ,
You stood there and you were real .
