In the "Alien Hunters" DLC a bunch of new alien rulers were introduced, one of which being the Viper King. There were also palette variations of the regular viper which was more of a pale blue that were implied to be the second generation of the viper.

Considering the background of the viper I was surprised they would still fight for Advent, or at least fight against XCOM. You would think the lack of a mind control chip the second generation would have more free will.

Here we have a viper who has found a nice warm spot and a towel to take the heavy load off. Despite being loyal to Advent, there's always time for relaxation.
