It got taken down off my other account when FA was hacked so I'm putting it on this one this time-
SOME NEWS- Casper is actually a doberman mix, we found out recently that his lineage is actually of doberman and smoothcoat labrador which fills in quite a b it more in corelation to his size and face shape/markings~
Casper is now 7 and still big and strong, he is going to be around for a long time and I'm very grateful for that, he is a great boy and he reminds me of a puppy because he's still got all that energy ^^
An update to his training I've been doing. I am on headcollar #2 because me managed to break the clasp because he continued to mush and pull even with it on, the new one is a different type that he can't break or get off but he is still good at pulling me and thrashing when he wants to go a different direction or bark at something, however its substantially better and I've since discontinued using collar walking and harnesses on him.
We're also working on his socializing and controll issues. He is now safe to be at parks and has interacted great with people of all ages as well as interacting with a few dogs, he main ly just mushes and barks untill he gets up to them and then isn't sure what he did it for. He also has been learning a new series of comands for in-home use that have for the most part established a sense of him not taking food that isn't his. He can now sit, lie down, and "wait" for food without having to be asked, He can also now do basic commands with hand signals.
The main issues now to get through are still his barking and screaming, his need to chase anything that moves. Hopefully when I get another job since im still on the hunt for work I will be taking him through extensive training to combat these bad behaviors and continue with reinforcement training for what he has already learned to ensure he is well rounded and completely aware of what is yes and what are no-no's
