I never get any cool bugs here, though there was one, about 10 years ago when my grandma had some flowers in the garden, some huge insect - about 2-3 cm long - with wings and all was attracted to the flowers, about 5-6 of them came every night and only during the night.

I never found out what they were...

Where is there and what did they look like? Also check under rocks, there's plenty of cool bugs under rocks.

Croatia, Conitental Climate, it was some kind of beetle, pretty sure it wasn't any kind of Rhinoceros Beetle though. I don't think it was any kind of Scarab Beetle.

It was dark brownish/black I think it was more black than brown, no other colorings, not fuzzy, didn't seem to have any kind of horns, it was long and didn't seem really "chubby" but wasn't thin either, the wings didn't make a very loud buzzing sound, you had to get pretty close to hear them.

I don't have a lot of experience with Diplopods, but I would guess this might be Abacion sp.. Not sure of exact species, but I think that's the right genus.

I dont know anything about them except that they don't belong in the house and they eat leaf litter and crap, so that's more than I got!

Wow, did that wrap around your entire finger? I've actually always been a little worried by insects, considering all the ones that cause horrible death and such. Still, I think it's really cool that you caught one and got a good snapshot of it like that. Could you feel all the little legs on your skin? I live in the upper level of a house barn so we have all kinds of bugs here, but not really any ones like millipedes. And I don't think I've ever seen one with ridges like that before either. Of course, we have a lot of spiders too, so that might have something to do with it.

No, just halfway around. It's not an insect, you don't have to worry about that. I can't really feel its legs either, because my hand is mildly calloused and stuff. This is the first one I've seen with ridges.

Only cool bugs I've seen around here are these really big wasps that are like, 2 times the size of a bumble bee, that come out of the ground. Needless to say, I'm too much of a wuss to go catch one.

Millipedes are not venomous. Well some of them are poisonous if you eat them.

Me and my brothers used them for races... that's right. We put them in the floor and see who reached the finish line first. (the smooth, black and red ones, this is the first time seen one like this)

I think the black and red ones can produce a cyanide compound when disturbed. Not enough to kill you but enough to make you sick. Or was that the black and yellow ones? How big were they?

They were about as long as my middle finger. Not really all that big either. I do recall they "dripping" this yellow liquid from there behinds, but they never did that when we picked them up nor do we touched said stuff.

I've always been careful about the bugs I touch and pick up.

I see the big ones usually when I go dig under stuff like pieces of concrete. The little ones come in my house all the time, though.... This oneis around my ring finger like some kind of awful jewelry.
