In the heat of battle, luck can change in an instant, victory transferring from one side to the other like some fickle mistress, tempting and teasing, but never faithful. It is when all hope seems lost, when the heroes find themselves utterly surrounded by enemies and no friend in sight, that they make their final stand. A horn sounds in the distance, and for a brief moment all is silent, all head turn towards the haunting sound. What was it? Recognition flashes in the minds of friend and foe alike as the battle standard is held high over the fresh troops cresting the hill. The enemy falters, shaking in their boots as their doom is sealed. A bright flash of flame surges overhead as the mage makes a beacon, marking their position to the newly arrived allies. It seems not all is lost, and friends come to our heroes aid in the nick of time. Hope remains.
