"Remember, you're a womble" I had read about this show years ago. I thought I read more recently that it was shown in the U.S. too but I can't recall it. I do know someone gave me some of their tunes as mp3s (Wombling Merry Christmas, Rem You're A Womble, Minuetto Alegretto, Wombles Everywhere) and I liked them (they're on YouTube vids too). I had read a guy named Mike Batt, who'd I'd heard of before, did the music, etc.

May have been one of those things quite familiar to Brits but not so much here in US?

It was better known in the UK yes, as it was a British creation, the books by Elizabeth Beresford and Mike Batt did form the band and produced the songs.
