Hey guys. Did you remember that I liked Rarity? Because I do. And I've got a lot of Rarity on my backlog.

One of a number of Rarity concepts I came up with a long time ago, I was really into robotic things because of the tumblr blog Ask Cyberpunk Spitfire (unfortunately no longer being updated, but I'd still heavily recommend looking at it, as well as the artist's new blog). The limited backstory which I haven't worked on in a while is that Rarity's body is destroyed in an accident and Twilight stores her soul in a crystal which later becomes the brain of a robotic body. The original body is clunky and simplistic, hardly fitting of one as high class as Rarity, and so instead of dressmaking she starts putting effort into developing the science of robotics herself and creates new bodies, progressively more and more advanced, but in the process she also starts to lose her sense of morals. The character is meant to be highly based on the idea of "modifying" herself since the possibilities of a mechanical body are nearly limitless. I commissioned this first pic of her from  marauder6272 a while ago, this is meant to be the primary body she uses at the end of all of her backstory in its base form.

She isn't actually meant to be a Nightmare, instead the changes she made to herself eventually caused her to resemble her Nightmare form, contrived as it might be.
