Karmapolitan (in cinemas 2007)
For the FA movie poster contest. [ http://www.furaffinityforums.net/sh.....d.php?tid=1685 ] I spent waaaaaay too much time on this. ^_^;
"Yuri, an Optinet actor of underground erotic films, knew exactly what he stood to gain (and lose) when he gave up his human body for an organic-synthetic one. The years in the industry brought in good and steady money for a comfortable life, and sometimes he even enjoyed the work. His peace is disturbed when, during a shooting in Bangkok v3.2, a visitor to the set tells him she knew him as a flesh-and-blood boy, and that his childhood friend has passed away. As the film continues, Yuri faces old regrets, childhood victories and broken promises, as he unravels the mysteries surrounding a close friend's death with direct links to the corporation that built his lupine body.
Based on a character in the DatChildren novels by Shuraim Mussawyr (also director and writer of the film) Karmapolitan delves into questions of memory, life's purpose, and the desires that lie behind both humanity's successes and failures. While said to be done with a modest budget, using customised software, experimental methods and local talent from South-East Asia, the film serves up a visual feast of sophisticated techniques in animation and digital film combined with powerful Gothic/surreal future imagery. Karmapolitan is a dark, unusual, and most welcome addition to sci-fi and animal anthropomorphic cinema."
Yeah, I'm more a writer than an artist. XD
Many of the names in the credits are people I know, or their characters. Cold Fairyland is a real music band from Shanghai, which BDog introduced to me. Listen to some of their stuff here: [ http://www.purevolume.com/coldfairyland ]
Yuri is a character in my DatChildren short story Jez: A Reason To Stay. Read it here: [ http://www.furaffinity.net/view/64631/ ]
Get originals. Say no to piracy. (Hahahahaha! ^_^)
Thanks for looking. =)

I wasn't too happy with how the fur turned out (looks more like granite or marble), but the composition worked well, and I might use Thai letter forms (the squiggly things on his back) again. Making movie posters for my stories is quite fun. ^_^
Thanks for the words. =]
