I've had a kind of very thick concentrated coffee once at a Mediterranean restaurant. Only a very small teacup amount of that stuff is enough, as it's the equivalent of a very large coffee drink from Starbucks or other chains. They go really well with the pastries such as tiramisu (pronounced "TEE-air-ME-soo"). Pretty bitter, though, but very strong stuff, which is why they are best served in small cups. For reference, it's like a very strong Turkish coffee in that it had coffee grounds still in it.

Yeah, except these tiramisu aren't exactly cookies, but more like cake or pie. Moist and soft, eaten cold. Mine even had a date fruit on top. And at least a good percentage of the coffee are grounds, the rest being liquid, making it very thick.
