I'm sorry you don't agree, but it's my art and therefor my pricing. It's not just a print out badge, it's talent, time, materials (quality markers and paper, lamination, + badge holder, +lanyard/badge clip) and shipping. The product is worth the value, in my opinion. If you don't like it, I'd encourage you to shop elsewhere where you get less for your dollar.

Furthermore, I'm not certain why you'd comment and favorite something and then critisize me rather harshly about it at the same time. I'm sorry, that's actually quite rude.

Wow, you know, that is really rude of you saying this to ANY artist.

Where do you get off telling an artist how much to charge for their time and effort, and furthermore telling them that they are OVERCHARGING when they are clearly NOT?

Seriously, take in talent and time into consideration. If your "source" is as good as this lovely artist that you are bashing, then they are very much underselling themselves and should be charging more. If you want to get lesser quality work and want to sacrifice talent for a few dollars, then that's you. Do your complaining and leave your insults elsewhere.

"One time long ago, a rich man decided he wanted a nice picture of a fish to hang on his wall. So he went to the most famous artist in all the land and asked him- "Will you paint me the most beautiful picture of a fish in the world?" The artist said, "Of course! But it will be expensive, it will cost you 1,000,000 Rubles." The man said "I don't care what it costs, just do it!" The artist said, "Alright then, pay me in advance, and then come back in one year." So the man came back the next day, handed over all the money, then left to wait.

He waited an entire year, through the summer, winter, spring and fall. Then exactly a year later he returned to the artists home and knocked on the door. The artist answered the door and said "Come in." The man anxiously asked, "Is my fish ready? Did you do your best work?"

The artist replied, "Of course, sit here, I will have your fish ready in a moment." The man sat next to a long table. The artist left the room, then returned with a piece of paper, a brush, and a pot of paint. The artist then dipped the brush in the paint, and in one minute painted the most exquisite and most beautiful picture of a fish imaginable. "Here is your painting, sir."

The man was stunned- in more ways than one! The man said "That certainly is a most beautiful picture- but it only took you a minute to paint! This is robbery! I won't pay you a million rubles for a painting that takes you one minute!! This is absurd!" The artist calmly put down his brush and said, "Come with me for a moment." And led the man over to a large closet on the other side of the room. The artist opened the door and out fell thousands of pieces of paper with fish painted on them."

Very poor form.

I never said I didn't like her art. I do, I just don't think the price fits her style well. That's not rude at all. If you don't want someone to let you know their thoughts, don't post your stuff where comments are allowed. Simple as that. It's business, deal with it.

And Just to remove some of the "Rudeness" you two seem to be pulling out of the air, I'll remove the favorite. Talk about being whiney, jeez. Forgive me for saying you were a great artist at all. People with a sour attitude like that towards critiquing need to get out of FA. Sorry, but you're not your khaki pants. :)

You weren't critiquing, you were criticizing. That's a completely different kettle of fish. Saying 'your style isn't good enough to warrant the prices you are asking' is not a critique. There is no justification for telling someone else how to earn their livelihood. There are plenty of other artists with similar offerings in this price range that do quite well, and there are plenty of artists who have badges for less, that's true. But the price is what it is-- it's not WalMart. It's not the exact same thing cut and pasted on every badge for every person, not sold from one manufacturer by 100 different artists. Art is unique and you are paying for the artist to effectively serve your ego by making you a completely one of a kind custom piece. Only in the furry world do I see so many people selling their time and effort for so little next to nothing-- anywhere else in the professional art world and the prices for commission work are almost astronomically high.

"It's business, deal with it."

Simply put, it is business. And you have no position to tell someone else, unsolicited, how to run their business.

Agreed-- everyone could stand critique now and then. And if the complaint itself had been posed in a more constructive manner with a little more grace and tact, I may not have changed the price, but I wouldn't have been hurt or taken offense.

Badge looks great! I really do not see what that person up there was complaining about. Your just trying to make it so that you get just compensation for your work, some people >:| Would totally get one if I had money though XD Love your style by the way :D :D
