Brax subscribes to the belief that there's no such thing as bad publicity, more out of convenience than anything else - for a wanton, brutal, living instrument of mass destruction such as him, it'd be hard to be portrayed in a good light anyways. Except for the scant, isolated (and quite frankly, weird) individuals who show admiration (or even attraction) for what he does, the population as a whole sees him as a monster.
And they're certainly not wrong, but still, nevertheless, the giant dane appreciates the attention given to him, for he knows each camera aimed a him means one more media outlet documenting and transmitting his acts. One more channel unerringly fixated on his rampage. Tens of thousands more people, with their eyes glued on their TV screens, watching with impotent terror him flattening, crushing, obliterating yet another city, unimpeded, unstoppable, almost mocking of their insignificance in his god-like might. To be honest, he quite liked that.
They do a noble work, these intrepid reporters, so Brax spares them of his destructive caprices. Monster as he was, he still wishes for a populus that KNOWS the menace that he is, that fears, panics and cowers, instead of an uninformed mass blissfully ignorant of their own doom.
In a way, that makes him better than most politicians.
I've been wanting to do this for a looong time. I have a couple of friends who've been really nice to me, and I wanted to draw something for them as a gift. And doing something for a friend is much better, right? It'd be much easier to work on it, I'd be more motivated, it'd flow a lot better, I'd suffer much less from anxiety... right? NO. THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN AT ALL. IT ONLY MADE IT WORSE ;_;
So for this piece (and the other one I'm still working on) I feel like the flaws got magnified by a thousand times. I got really lazy with some parts of the background, and the massive discrepancy in detail between Brax, the mountains and the city made the picture REALLY ugly to look at, so I tried to apply some grey fill to mask it a bit. And the frame used to be, like, twice this height, but I had to crop it lest I killed myself in desperation. It's all very haphazard. S-sorry, Brax. Hope you still like it ._."
At least I drew a city again. And improvised as it was, to be quite honest I kinda like the greyscale. I think I'll start using it a bit more from now on.
