As a follow-up to my previous 'photo-op' ("Glenn's Living Room") - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19893915/ - I have a close-up of one of my brother's most recent acquisitions to adorn his souvenir-laden condominium in Margate, Florida...
Last month, Glenn and I visited Pompano Beach several times, where my sibling has the tendency to give into the occasional 'impulse buy' at certain stores. For example, at the Sugar Chest Antique Mall, he paid $10 for a walking stick covered in snakeskin. And, of course, he added this item to the collection of souvenirs that take up the living room of his home (and not just photographs, posters and paintings, but unusual items like autographed electric guitars, beer tap spigots, and a giant jar filled with matchbooks and matchboxes from places he'd traveled to).
Most recently, we took a walk through a Pier One Imports store in Pompano Beach, where we saw on a shelf some 'Clearance Sale' items. One item that immediately caught his eye was a green bottle shaped like a life-sized human head, made out of recycled glass. Glenn's eyes lit up, the moment he saw it, as he said to me, "This would be perfect for the lamp I wanted to make for my living room!" As for the price, said glass head originally retailed for $20, but he got it on sale for just $13! (Another lucky 'impulse buy'!)
Committing himself to this project, sure enough Glenn was able to complete his 'headlamp' project in record time, and used his smartphone camera to take a digital picture of it. In this close-up, we see said lamp in the corner of his living room. BTW, the white fluorescent light bulb inside the head is not turned on; it just looks illuminated from within the green glass of the bottle. In the previous snapshot, the headlamp was turned on, so that you couldn't even tell that it looks like a human head!
I'll have more pictures of me and Glenn in later editions of "Throwback Thursday" during my latest 'sweeps month' (May, 2016).
