They're very cool! It takes a little bit of effort to set up a proper environment for them (everything the pet store tells you about hermit crab care is a lie), but it's worth it. :D

This is true! Hermit crabs have it worse than many, though: they're sold as inexpensive pocket pets that are expected to die within a month, but they can live for several decades with the proper habitat and diet. Poor guys!
