Its Patches as a green lantern again. I was watching the new batman series and thought I'd draw Patches so here he is. Watching some of the green lanterns in action I can't help but think "your all idiots" you have a power ring that can create almost anything and your making buzz saws and boxing gloves. How about an energy atomic bomb! Smack some baddie with a giant green energy moon! Hmm maybe that's why I should never have an energy ring... wmahahahaha. I tried coloring a little with colored pencil but it stinks...and yes he's wearing a thong.

During one of the reboots at DC and redoing the background for Hal Jordon he did actually use a technique like that against an opponent in all yellow armor. He slammed them into mud until they were covered and easily trashed the armor (which backfired on him but hey he got around the yellow weakness that existed at the time).
I've always found that somewhat ridiculous for a limitation anyway since all you need is to cover them in something that blocks the yellow color or get them into an area where the light doesn't include yellow so they cease looking yellow and they're done for. Of course the worst I've seen was an opponent with 'an invisible yellow aura' which is absurd since something that's invisible can't be yellow because something has to be visible to have a color.

They got the bright *sarcasm* idea of having a rainbow of power ring-wielding groups in various states of conflict with one another, each color associated with a different emotion (blue is for hope, red for rage, and black for death). So instead of 'just' around 8000 beings running around with a device capable of remaking reality there are around ten times that.
It depends on the Green Lantern how creative he can be, some are depicted as failing to be as creative as their backgrounds go with (John Stewart was an architect yet seemed very unimaginative, whereas Kilowog was an engineer and was frequently using his ring to create extremely advanced technology). They've been expanding on that to some degree as they've heard enough fans going 'why are they being so unimaginative in their creations?' to realize that they need to up their game somewhat.
