Our 2016 panel presentation, "Coping with Limitations: Owning Your Cutie Mark" has been officially confirmed for BronyCon 2016!
This year's presentation will focus on two key parts.
1: Accepting, understanding, and coping with label(s) associated with yourself and/or others
2: How Role Play and cosplay can play a part in building social skills
The overall goal is to show participants how to feel confident in themselves while not succumbing to "The Misconception of the First Impression". We then illustrate how the use of role play and/or cosplay can provide gateways to building self-confidence to share a part of yourself with others.
The image here was drawn traditionally by talented, convention artist, Asia Martinez. It will be offered up for the BronyCon 2016 Charity Auction.
What makes this image special is the emphasis on non-canon characters that we are all capable of creating through our own unique perspectives on the world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It's through our creativity and shared interests that we can build upon friendships while making new friends who may be curious as to how your characters may interact within an established concept.
In this case, the characters on the left-hand side are all the creation of fellow panelist, Ari Kunofsky. They are all introducing themselves to more established characters, such as Spike, Starlight Glimmer, and Diamond tiara, along with a very well-known OC, Snowdrop.
As my vision returns, I will be making stronger efforts to promote our presentation. (Some web-sites are not fully accessible to Screen Reading Technology and I have very minimal use of my eye at this time) Fortunately, the convention isn't until July 8th through the 10th. This gives us plenty of time to gather materials, feedback, and prepare for our best panel ever in the "Coping with Disabilities / Limitations" series.

If you'd be interested, I can share with you some additional details? It'd be in a .RTF, or .DOC file I could send to your e-mail. :)
Let me know if you're interested in reading, and seeing, the first part of the presentation. The second part is still being built by
aricub and the other two presenters. :)

In a future post, would you like me to credit Bucky's creator? If so, I would only need you to give me a link, or something you'd like written, for proper acknowledgment. :)
As for Candy Cloud, she's your character, Ari. You know how some folks sell characters they make? (Adoptables). She's all yours with no strings attached. :)

Candy is entirely created from all your wonderful ideas, Ari. Without Pint, Fall, and Bucky, I would never have imagined her. The ideas you've had are what gave birth to Fall's number one fan. :)
I've been testing to see how much I can try and use my eye these past few days. It isn't too long, but it does seem to be helping to expedite the recovery process. Kind of like Physical Rehabilitation for the eyeball. <LoL!>
The point of the above is that I am intending to get back to writing "Bucky's New Year" tomorrow. I really want to at least finish it before I have to catch up on all the other stuff that has fallen behind these past four months. :)

Ooh, congrats! Interesting topics too. It reminds me about how at cons I've been able to get the courage to talk to people because they were cosplaying as characters that I like. And when I'm in cosplay myself, I feel a lot more comfortable and it's really nice when people talk to me when I'm cosplaying too.
Hearing you say that makes me very happy, Skye. The bulk of the discussion will be on how RP and CP are beneficial in building social skills / self-esteem towards interacting with others. Our colleague
aricub has already come up with a very inspirational speech for her part of the discussion that will really, in my opinion, help a lot of people.
Have you ever talked with Ari? She's really nice. If not, perhaps she could be another friend here on FA?

Whoops! I feel ridiculous for not having caught that mistake before. I will make sure to not make that abbreviation from this point.
I've always appreciated your input on these matters, Skye. You've taught me to deeply appreciate having direct honesty when it comes to things over someone not being so forward and allowing me to make terrible mistakes over-and-over. I owe you so much for humbling me to where I see such critique as improvements towards my overall ability to communicate with the world at a kind, fair, and equal level.
Everything is looking great for the presentation this year.
aricub has been a super-strong part of keeping the entire team glued together and on-task.
If you think of anything I should share, add, or try to get across while we're there, please let me know. Your input means a lot to me and has been super helpful more times than I can even count. :)
