Hans is a crude, brutish, prideful local hero to his city/town. He's extremely egotistical and likes to boast about his own strength which he should. He's one of the strongest people around. If he can't punch it, he'll bite it. if he can't bite it then....he should probably fuck off somewhere because it's not able to be crushed by him.
