No, you're actually 100% correct. My story world borrows a lot from real-life human history that I felt it only proper that its shape be reminiscent as well. there are twists, but the African-style countries are generally in "African" and the European-style countries are generally in the Europe area. There are American and Australian aspects, but they are somewhat removed geographically. The only real mix up is that I plopped something of an Incan civilization in the middle of this map.. so.. you know..
