Don't Look Back (New Style)
Looking back over the years, I kind of thought it was time to change a bit. I've grown tired of the gator like maw that all my dragons had. When I would show my stuff to local artists, they would often confuse my dragons with dinosaurs, alligators, crocodiles or other reptilian affairs. So I made his maw a little more identifiable with that of dragon origin. Not to mention it gave me a chance to update the horns and make them look a fair bit more original. There are some evident errors in this picture of Galaranth, but I will ignore these for the sake of future works featuring dragons.
This also gave me a change to adjust the massive saber fangs that made my characters so unique. I'm generally very pleased with how they look. Further adjustments on future works to both the horns and the fangs will be made in order to try and fit them correctly into perspective. Since this new snout is more uniform and somewhat smaller; it gave me chance to open up the eyes of my dragons, giving them an easier to take appearance and an easier to draw format for me. I also enlarged his ears to give a more comedic and youthful look. Needless to say, he no longer looks like he's 40, he looks more like he's 25. That's exactly how he's suppose to be.
Just what the hell he's thinking beneath that look of mischief on his face I don't know, but I am a little suspicious, I think you should be too.
Don't look back, a new day is breaking,
It's been so long since I felt this way...
