Managed to find some time and delve into some of the customs and history of the tribe this version of Nomax belongs to and with that also nail down the outfit for him.
Will have to see when i get to the other outfits but i guess i'll probably be able to reuse some of the stuff from this one and maybe make my life easier.
Also very happy that i just finally have something more detailed to show him off in his entirety! Now i can finally just point to something and say "Here you go, this is how he looks" instead of thinking about the way of how to best stitch together elements from several pictures and rough designs :D Plus i really couldn't be more satisfied with how he turned out!

Yeah , plus the whole thing of using white probably would be even more of a disadvantage. He had nice and black fur before and then painted a white streak right underneath his eye? Yeah have fun dealing with the glare of that in bright sunlight you doofus! :D
But, yeah, he'll do fine, don't need perfect eyesight for a most things after all :)

Thank you very much!
That particular area has been a focus of mine for the past 18 months or so, so it's nice to hear that it's well received! And yes, the two main philosophies of mine when drawing are pretty straight forward, follow the shape and try to get it down with one stroke, best example in here for that are the ribs or the folds on the clothing. Or alternatively wrap around the shape in a way similar to a graphite sketch. Most obvious for that would be arms and legs where some hatching can be seen.
Here it's actually not nearly as prominent as usual since the fur colouring already makes it pretty busy, so i don't want to overdo it.

Amazing! Yes, I can clearly see the outcome of your work, it's wonderful and please keep going!
Also, it's cool to hear from such a great artist as you that you're still learning. It's obvious, yet easy to forget that even the people we look up to are still on their way to improve... Thanks <3

Hah, you're welcome, and that's very true, it's an easy trap to fall into to think there to be some spot where you just can settle down and just enjoy everything, a final goal, but really without the constant learning process it would be kinda boring! Just think about finishing a new painting and it's only as good as the last one. You'd think alright, not everything always needs to be a big step forward, but then the next one again is just the same, and the next one after that as well. Sounds kinda awful. You always wanna see some improvement in your newest picture even if it's just that one little leaf on a plant that you really nailed! :)
