I was playing around with an eagle doodle and it turned out better than I thought. Just a touch (or more) of contrast using pastels.
I think this bird has a slight smile about her. Tell me what you think.
Also, I'm going to render this piece later in pen and ink. We'll just see how that works!

Holy shit, that's excellent, MisterMinostypedude... The *ONLY* thing I would suggest, is to push the eagle more into the foreground, darken the background close to the eagles head as dark as you can get it, and lighten it way from the head, the would give the optical illusion of the Eagle's head standing out more from teh paper.. but damn dude, excellent. :) I have to say this is one of the very best renderings I've seen you do to date.
Thanks for the comment and the great advice too. I always value your input like this. I wish you was here with me while I was doing this. I just sat down, took up a pastel and thought, "Now what do I do with this?!" That is such super cool tip!
*blushes* Thanks for the nice comment too. I think I've learned about contrasts too, from your previous advice and that helps make this bird fly a bit more. Of course I used the pastels that you gave me too, my art benefactor!

LOL! Awesome, see? I told you it'd sink in. Keep reading, keep drawing and keep looking at other art and trying to see what makes it what it is and your art will keep improving like it has been. I sure do like seeing how you've been progressing like this. VERY very cool! And I'm glad those pastels came in handy! I noticed they weren't green though. *Snicker*
*hugs his pretty duck* Thank you so much for the compliment. I'm doing my best to get as close to realism as I can with my bird portraits. I think I'm getting better with each one. I love avians of all kinds, can't get enough, so it's a real pleasure for me when someone (such as you) appreciates what I do and takes the time to say so.
*Ducky Hugs* The Ducky also so loves Avians and I really admire people who photograph and/or draw them and I can tell that ya have a deep love for Avians. They are such lovely creatures!! And I really love all the feathery details ya add to your piccies! I mean tis almost like looking at a photograph!! Especially all the detail ya put around his eye and his breast feathers and all. Excellent Excellent work!!
