A week after the disastrous attack on the clinic, Deirdre is struggling to keep things under control. With her clinic destroyed and the town in a panic, she's stretched herself far thinner than ever before trying to stay on top of everything. Just when things in Stony Plain seem to be getting worse and worse, the Guild from Sinnoh, all the way across the sea, has offered support. Supplies, money... and a single Lucario, sent to help the town by whatever means necessary...

Chapter 9 of The Travelers is here, and things are a bit different this time around. This is part 1 of 2 of a crossover chapter that
BlankSlate15 and I wrote, using both my characters and his own. It's a bit longer than even my chapters go, but I think there's a lot of enjoyable stuff in this chapter, and it was a lot of fun to write together ^^
Blaine belongs to
BlankSlate15
Madame Indigo belongs to
KingdomOfGray
All other characters belong to me
Pokemon belongs to GameFreak
And as always, feel free to comment about what you liked and disliked about the chapter. I hope you enjoyed reading it, and stay tuned for part 2 later on~ ^^
Blaine's submission can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19851301/

I love how that story with Madam Indigo -still- somehow manages to be relevant, even all these months later X3
ANYWAY -
You and Blaine have managed to work together really well on all this. I could tell where one writer and the reigns in certain paragraphs over others, but there's nothing necessarily wrong with that. Seeing the characters interact was interesting - and I don't think I need to explain why I liked seeing Blaine and Deirdre interact, especially in the beginning third of the story.
To Blitzen: Seeing the town in the state it is currently in is quite natural for the events of the previous chapter. It's a shame that they are willing to turn against lorn so quickly (Rodrick I could understand, seeing as he is both wild AND an ex-reclaimer himself) after everything, but a group lead by fear is one that makes poor decisions. There's a lot of psychology that goes into that, from guilt and blame being reduced and ignored as it's shared among members, to irrational thought controlling everyone as they act on emotion and dare not raise objections for fear of becoming a target as well. Something tells me that the sheriff is behind parts of this, and I look forward to seeing where this all ends up.
To Blaine: I can see why you have told me in the past that you imagine Blaine with almost a split personality. While his arguments can be justified, there are plenty of opinions on how matters should be dealt with - some get results, but can cause more issues down the line, others are slow and don't immediately fix problems, but can be better options in the end. Blaine's rashness is a core part of his character, and it is shown here at his fullest extent thus far - and I imagine we've not seen the end of him losing control as he has. All that said, he's still just a sweet a guy as ever (and not just because he tastes like chocolate, hur hur hur). Honestly, I expect a strong relationship between him and Deirdre.

Heheh, indeed. It was only fitting that we reference the place where Blaine and Lorne first met. XD
And I'm glad you liked it; it was really fun writing this up together. Honestly, you have it pretty much to a 't' on your comments towards me. Blaine is a student of the 'Monkey D. Luffy school of problem solving'. That is, 'if you punch (or in Blaine's case, kick) the right person enough times, things will sort themselves out'.
He does run on emotional response a lot. And you are most certainly right on all those points; you haven't seen the end of Blaine losing control. And yeah. He and Deirdre have pretty good chemistry, hehe.

Madame Indigo has left something of an impact, hasn't she? At least when it comes to Lorne xP
And yeah, as reprehensible as some of the things the townsfolk are doing, I am trying to keep things like that in mind as well. The town's scared, and rightly so, and they lack a strong leader to help bring them through it. And the sheriff is definitely tied up in a lot of what's happening lately, it just remains to be seen to what degree.
Anyway though, I'm glad you liked it ^^ I'm looking forward to the second part too, heheh

Really interesting crossover so far, sorry it took me so long to finish reading it x3
Blaine and Deidre make for a fun pairing, I imagine they'll do well together. Quite curious about what's happened to Lorne though, looking forward to seeing where you guys go with this :D
