I've never played DW, but, I know of the book upon which it's based. I guess action and fighting games are far more popular than strategy games, but, I have only played the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series. I have the latest of the series on my PC.

The game was fun... But, I must admit that it was a fairly big let down for me... The gameplay was fantastic; but the major let downs were restriction of characters with Story Modes (VERY big one, at that) and the use of motion repetition for Free Mode characters...
Good to rent, but honestly not the best thing to own of the DW saga, in my opinion... Unless you like the flashy moves and would like to learn them, then it is a good thing to keep... ^_^

I dig this. I happen to like dynasty warriors, not just because its an awesome game and perfect button mashing hack and slasher. Its also because its a story arc game based off of the actual non fictional story of the realm of the three kingdoms, set im furel china, hundred upon hundred of years ago.
