The cannibal hag known as Black Annis haunts the Leicestershire countryside, always on the prowl for children who have wandered too far from home. Easily recognized by her single eye and bluish skin, Black Annis makes her home in a secret cave called Black Annis’ Bower, its entrance hidden by a gnarled oak tree. She survives on sheep and deer when children aren’t available.
