It's pretty good. I'd free up the harmonic structure a bit though --- that first phrase in particular doesn't feel like it has enough chord changes in it, or else they're just too close to the center.

Also it'll sound more "raggy" if you make it a bit longer and go for the full traditional structure; you know, intro A A B B A Trio Trio D D and all that.

I don't know that much, and I might be wrong, given that I only really listen because I don't have the chops to play, but I'm just saying what comes to mind.

That is a good point. I was worried different chord progressions wouldn't establish it as well as ragtime, but then I let myself free it up a bit in the next part of the song.

By Trio you mean change it to a waltz tempo?

No, it's a march trio. It's just another strain, but usually there's a key change to go with it.

I think if you're going for rag, it should have a little more punch (perhaps pomp is another good word)

Huh. =o Not a complaint I often hear. Usually it's like "MOAR REVERB". :P This is the standard amount that came with the virtual instrument I used. I didn't up it or anything.

Yeah, rags sound a little weird with reverb, now that I think about it. >> It's like instead of "I'm watching an old silent film" it's "I'm out on the street at night and there's an old silent film on at the theater down the street," if that makes any sense.
