Very simple, it took me around 2 hours of work, and what I slept (I had it on my forearm the whole night, while it was wet, so it copyed the shape of my forearm).

When you've got it on your arm and drying, when you take it off, does it leave any colors or anything on your arm? I'm trying to figure out whether this technique would work for doll vambraces.

No, yet, I'm not sure about this technique on doll's vambraces, this is for 5mm leather, quite out of scale.

Yet, not all is lost, with a thinner leather (say 2mm) you can cut it into shape, and on the rough side pour some bee's wax (they sell it in small "stones", you can melt it with a regular lighter and get the drops fall on the leather) and when it's starting to get hard apply it on the doll. If it stains it don't worry for it can be cleaned.

Very nice though the words are a little hard to read in such small text. None the less good and simple tut. I keep wanting to get more into leather but then I get distracted by metalworking or video games lol.

Hehe I learned the best way to keep details is to just shrink the picture in any program like even Paint down to just below the max submission size of 1280x1280. That way it keeps that size on full view and still has a decent pic on the small view. Like for instance look at this picture in full view. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1857159/

Taking two seconds to alter the size is worth it in my opinion for anything that needs you to be able to see detail.

Of course never mind it looks like you already did so and it reached the max size going one direction...hmm stupid size limits.

Yeah, I tried first to put it in all it's glory, supossedly the limit is 10Mb, so I thought anyone could download it for the full size version, but at 3.9Mb the page gave me a 502 error 6 or 7 times, so I descided to resize it, but apparently it wasn't enough and FA automaticall shrinked it even more...

what kind of sword did you use to test it?

I used a bastard sword, a single handed sword, and some knives and even an axe.

Hmmm, where do you buy such leathers?
This actually seems pretty simple enough that I might attempt it myself.

Any store that sells leathers I'd say, I used sole leather for this, it's really strong yet flexible, and that's what you want ^^

It's a good "first project" for a beginner.
