As with many warriors before him, a blood-spattered past conflictingly spurs one toward further fighting, and the desire to never wield a weapon again.
Memory is a tricky thing, when you both want to remember, and to forget.
Ehmyt, this mysterious, mountainous man, has seen battle more times than he cares to remember. More than he actually can remember. And yet, he still recalls much more than he would like.
+++++++
Now, as for what's below, it's not exactly something Ehmyt ascribes to himself. I suppose it would have to be something Saa brought up or showed to him, when he eventually discusses his past with her. That is, she'd be trying to say, in her own Sun-God-fixated way, that there can be noble reasons to take up arms.
Additionally, I wonder if anyone will see the tricky thing I did with the rhymes.
Erudite wordsmanship aside, I hope it makes sense in general, and that you enjoy it, of course!

Unforgiving is this world, our place
But
While living, it's what we must face
Streaks of deep red
Reeks of the dead
Sand without an end
Stand: we must not bend
Unto the will of lords
Eschew them and their hoards
Take up spears
Shake off fears
Learn the sword
Turn, unmoored
You
I
We
Us
Must not sit idly by
Thrust, give chase and fly
Whenever you can assist
And never ever desist
~

Okay I remember this one...
Horizontal swings are blockable, vertical swings dodge left and behind in order to get off three swings before backing off. Keep an eye out for the tail swipe and avoid the grap attack...he could swallow a man whole with it.
...
...
Wait this isnt a Dark Souls enemy?
-checks clock-
What day is it?
-checks date-
Huh...I think i've been playing to much Dark Souls 3...

Oh god...Gaping Dragon Boss fight flash backs...that was the first boss in Dark Souls 1 that I just threw myself against like a brick wall over and over again.
Oh that would be interesting. Ehmyt and Saa cosplaying/dressed like the Gaping Dragon for Ehmyt and the Dancer of the Boreal Valley for Saa, that would look cool.

I do love this character, it reminds me a lot of the LizardMen from Breath of Fire - specifically BoF3 - http://bof.wikia.com/wiki/LizardMn
While I had heard of 'The Charge of the Light Brigade' before, both the poem and the actual historical event, I'd never really looked into it or read it at all.
But, the lines "Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die" has been in my head for many years [not constantly, but it comes up now and then], although it's transposed to be 'ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die', in that it's being said by a soldier, when I've heard it referenced.
So, thanks for showing me what it was from! As I hinted at, a moment ago, I'd only ever heard it alluded to by people in soldier roles, in various media.
Anyway, thanks the fave, and most of all, for comparing my work [or WM's art] to a classic poem / storied historical moment! :}===<
[Also, the last line of the poem "Noble six hundred", it makes me wonder if the team name of the six heroes in Halo Reach, "Noble Six," is an allusion to Tennyson's poem. The fate of that team is not far removed from that of the Light Brigade's. >___> ] - [Edit: Actually, I guess the team is just 'Noble Team', but the main character that you play as is himself/herself called 'Noble Six', so.. that's something!]
