Rorie has been my fursona all my life! She has grown along side me and changed as I have! (along with my art style wow).
2009- I first made Rorie. I used a 'wolf creator' on DA to help myself design her. She was feral only and was the main character to a crappy animated series I had on youtube for a few months.
2010- I decided to make her anthro! She was very emo and was shoved into a lot of immature young-furry art that I drew (example above.. what furry doesnt have a rave phase?). Her colors were just as neon and terrible as the 2009 version of her though
2012- I decided to change her species from a wolf to a border collie/dragon hybrid! It was a step up from the neon-puke wolf she was before at least. I toned her colors down more (darker greens and blues, I kept the gray though). I didnt change her design too much.. I thought about it but still felt connected to the first version and felt I had to keep her close to the same.
2015- My love for dragons and wolves was far behind me at this point, and I started to really dislike neon colors on characters (sorry not sorry to anyone who has super neon characters, its a pet peeve of mine). I finally decided that I changed as a person a whole lot since 2009 and my fursona should too..
I changed her species from a border collie/dragon to a border collie/parrot! (a white bellied caique to be exact). I wanted my love for parrots to show but to still have a canine base. I know canines are a bit cliche but Im still attached to the look of them ahaha~
2016- The design for this reference didnt change at all! I just decided to add more weight to her. I am a chubby person who has a lot of body image issues.. Im not as thick as Rorie is but I decided to make her fatter than me as a way to help me learn to love myself how I am! Its been working really well actually. I love chubby characters and this is starting to help me reflect on my own self love.
I dont plan on changing my fursona anymore, I an very satisfied with her final design! She is my doge birb baby and I love her to bits <33
I hope you all like seeing how she evolved over the years!!
