I asked myself; what would happen if I took an already existing image, but gave it a different colour job? And I took something I was really happy about, the Bugwaifu drawing I previously made with the binary brush.
Now, I posed a challenge to myself, using the default “brush” tool in SAI for the most part. It was an interesting experience! But after I was done, and started looking at the vast space behind her… I just wanted to once more do a very straightforward, pleasant looking meadow. I like meadows. I also put a happy little tree there. It may not be the best looking tree, but it doesn’t mind. It’s as happy as it can be.
It was very relaxing to work on, but I have put off finishing it. Now it is done, however. It has a different finish, despite being the same image. It feels more… pleasant? I just couldn’t crop it to put the focus on just her, so that’s why there’s more in the back… even if it is kinda sparse!
Anyways, yeah… wall of text!

Yeah, that is a bit of a downside to traditional art! There's also a much higher risk of things being messed up by a tiny mistake (or happy little accident). You can't undo things easilly, or at all in some cases. Digital art has a lot of leniancy towards mistakes, since you can correct them easilly. Don't like the background? Well, just erase and start over from scratch, even if it's fully painted!
But yeah, it's worth working with just for the experimentation and stuff! Traditional and digital work have their own ups and downs, but in the end... all that matters is that the artist is pleased with his or her work, but also ready to hop onto the next one!

Oh, don't worry! That's exactly why I wanted to do a different take on it, by making it softer, instead of the harder, high contrast aliased image. Because I both enjoy working with a style I first started with, and a more... I guess traditional painted thing? Since I can't do both at once, I had to settle for two images, even if it is the same base!
