When Doves Cry.....RIP Prince
Prince passed away today suddenly.
2016 is really a bad year for musicians.

I agree, ever since the 1980's.
Back in the 1970's, I used to watch wrestling on a Green Bay station, they had only two cameras, one for the interviews and one overlooking the ring.
Guys like "Da Crusher."
Baron Von Raschke
The Gagne family
Wahoo McDaniel
My Dad used to laugh his head off at one wrestler who acted "poofy," "Gorgeous George."

Hell,, I Grew up watching The Crusher and Gorgeous George and his locks of blonde hair smack each other on TV in the late 60s. Wrestling wasn't as badly staged as it is today. last time I 'caught' wrestling was when some fanboy was over at my house during a party and commandeered the TV and turned on Wrestling and DEMANDED it stay on that channel. Some dude tossed another dude on the mat, and then jumped off the ropes and slammed his elbow nto the throat of the guy...but the camera angle clearly showed the guys elbow not even touching the guys throat and instead smacking the mat. The guy on the mat acted like his windpipe was crushed.
Then my wife stepped into the room and physically yanked the power cord for the TV from the wall and yelled at the kid get to STFU and go outside where everybody else was. Kid threw a hissy fit at her, Wife verbally ripped him a new one and banished him forever from the property.
There was much rejoicing.

For me, it was N.W.A. - National Wrestling Alliance - out of Georgia, where I watched "Gentleman" Chris Adams, Dusty Rhodes (before he was in the WWE), the Road Warriors, The Rock & Roll Express, The Fabulous Freebirds, The Four Horsemen. We even got to see some of the Von Erichs, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, and of course Sting and "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert.
I've even had the rare treat of living in the UK, and watching their brand of wrestling under the B.W.F. (British Wrestling Federation), where my favorite was "Big Daddy", aka Shirley Crabtree.

And she sometimes makes pancakes for the US presidents if they've been good.
Seriously.
She has her own kitchen, and if there's not an event on she's known to just cook her own meals.
I have this theory that there's a secret room at Buckingham Palace, that's done out with a ratty old couch, TV set, dog bed, ironing board and after a hard day The Queen and prince Phil sneak in, and put on curlers and string vests, and eat beans on toast and watch soap operas.

I am a terrible person who is beyond redemption. This is the first thing came into my mind when I hear the name "Prince" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xmAC9Qu908
Went out just like MJ
Shocking stuff, really unexpected.
I didn't know the guy much, wasn't too familiar with his work, but he was an icon. A symbol of music and pop culture. One of the recognizable figures in our times. He'll be missed.
This is a great tribute to him. Nicely done.

Unlike Michael, wasn't controversial in his career , he pretty much kept a low profile and despite dressing flamboyantly in his performances, was a normal guy. I personally enjoyed his music far more than MJs. Outside his weird symbol for his name, he never creeped me out like Michael did. Certainly didn't have to fear leaving your kids with him if you catch my drift.
What gets me is the amount of news on him within a week prior to his passing, freaks me somewhat. He was briefly hospitalized, his plane had to make an emergency landing in Moline Illinois (which allowed him to attend a small club that night) then he held his concert over the weekend saying he just had a bout of the flu.
Now he's dead. This just shocked the shit out of me. The man wasn't an alcoholic, didn't do drugs that I was aware of, even a vegan. I guess we'll have to see what they find in the autopsy today.

Prince's music talents and stage presence were original and charismatic.
That said, he can be a complicated man during his 80s run...he declined an appearance to appear in the "We Are The World" group singalong music video, although he did contribute a song for the album. This was parodied brilliantly on "Saturday Night Live" with Billy Crystal as Prince performing "I Am The World" with guest co-hosts Mr. T and Hulk Hogan playing Prince's bodyguards and beating up any music superstar who dared to step up to the microphone and sing with the Purple one.

Prince also denied permission for "Weird Al" Yankovic to parody "When Doves Cry" and other songs. Prince also instructed most music stars through his spokespeople not to make eye contact with or talk to him or his entourage during a concert backstage, on stage, or sitting in the audience with him. He also rarely gave interviews to the press, and if he did, he instructed there would no recording of the interview or taking of notes during the interview.
That did turn off some fans, music executives, and professional journalists as narcissistic...but the man was unique and very talented.

Nope, BUT, now that I said it, if you chose to look it up you could and now I probably could google the info on the military weaponry you just gave specs on. Just saying, it was a double day of celebs for those who follow certain ones. She was minor anyway, more late 90s early 2000s era.
Reminds me when Farrah Fawcett died, she went before St Peter, who asked her "Is there anything you wish before entering here?"
Farrah replies, "I wish for the children of the earth to live in peace and no fear."
St Peter says Done and done.
20 Minutes later, Michael Jackson dies.
