This one took quite a while to get done as it was more complex than the previous one Kompy did. It turned out quite well though!

I watched the door begin to roll closed in the quickly fading light, noticing that from this side I could read the number twenty-five emblazoned on its surface smack dab in the middle. The outside of the door looked much the same as the inside otherwise. Inevitably though, the final sliver of light vanished as the door completed its closing cycle and the cave fell silent once more. I was now alone. In the dark... And it was so unbearably silent.
The darkness and silence assaulted my senses. It felt like I was standing on an invisible platform floating in an endless abyss of nothingness. I'll admit it, this scared the hell out of me. If there was one thing I wanted back right about now, it would be light. That's when I remembered that my PiP-Mon had a built-in flashlight feature. That was easy enough to find and turn on.
With a soft click, the cave around me was illuminated in the pale green glow of my PiP-Mon light. I started to walk forward, thinking about if I could change the color of the light, when my left boot came down on something that made a crunching sound like I hadn't heard before. The sound made me stop in my tracks, pulling my gaze down towards the floor. Horror flashed across my mind as a hand came up to clamp over my mouth. At the same time I could feel both of my tails had poofed out and my ears uncurl, but I couldn't do more than register them as a footnote because my eyes were wide and locked on what I had just stepped on...and what was around it. The cave was unnaturally silent for a good few seconds before I couldn't take it anymore.
I screamed.
Skeletons. At least two dozen of them. They littered the ground around the door like wind-strewn debris. Adults and children (children!) of various species of 'mon were scattered among the rocks and dirt. None of them were intact; bones were missing or crushed under some fallen rocks. There were signs clutched in the hands of a few of the adults ("Let us in!" "You're killing us!" "We've got children!" "WHY?") and I quickly had to look away lest I allow fear and sadness overwhelm me.
