(Late) birthday present for my Tom. He's not on this site. He likes werewolves and other fantasy creatures and such, but is not really a furry. Only when I draw him as one ;)
He wanted, and I quote: "A techno catgirl with a pair of mirrorshades playing a "Catsio" synthesizer. "
And she doesn't have dreads, that's yarn woven into her hair.

haha, yes! That reminds me, a friend of mine is filming a half-hour music show (once a week) for public-access stations. He's looking for any local independent musicians to come on, play 2 or 3 songs, sit for an interview and give opinions on music videos. Note me if interested.
I've seen videos of cats and dogs playing piano before.... not well, but it's possible.

Now I believe the first thing I have to say that I like about this is the lighting effect you used in the background. I can't help it. I have a thing for immediately noticing things like spotlights or colorful rave lights. Call it a me thing.
But it's pretty amazing how you happen to have then actually bend when they reach the violet pillar in the picture. God only knows how you did that (For the rare times I draw these days, I don't use Photoshop..) but it's a rather nice effect.
Looking at the keyboard.....just.. wow. I don't think I've really ever seen that much detail go into a piece of musical equipment. I just haven't. You managed to keep a constant light source on EACH key (I would have went mad at attempting to. Then again, I would have also used MS Paint for it, so you can imagine why.)
...but I will say it's pretty amusing how you even decorated the keyboard with little shaped and 'graffiti.' :) [I.e- paw print and fish bone. That's cute. x) ]
Personally.. I have to say this turned out rather nicely oh Squeaks When Hugged. x)
I used a photo of a real keyboard for reference. It still took the most time. Straight lines and perspective are harder for me than anything else.
As for the light on the pillars, that was easy. After doing the background, I added a new "hard light" layer. Put on circles with a gradient of pastel blue-pink-yellow. Then, when it came to the pillar, cut the circles and shifted them up, so it looks like they are going around.
